During their time in the first grade, children are taught the basic fundamentals of Math. Basic geometry along with graphing may also be introduced. Additionally, first graders are taught basic reading skills with the focus on reading and writing simple statements. Of course, with the changes brought about by the Common Core Standards, children entering the first grade are now expected to read and understand stories covering a wide range of lengths and difficulty.
Students are also introduced to the basics of Social Studies, Geography and Science. The subject of Science is taught to them in an interactive manner that enables free questioning and comprehensive understanding of the world around them.

Grade 1 English Curriculum Language Arts
The online home schooling curriculum for English follows the common core standards for 1st grade English. School curriculum includes developing skills for reading, writing and listing skills. Students will understand words, spoke, syllables within a word and sounds. Explain the differences between the books that tell stories and give information.
Grade 1 Mathematics Curriculum
The Grade 1 math curriculum focuses on understanding the addition and subtraction, understand how numbers relate each other, understanding linear measurements and length units, students work on creating and recognizing shapes.
Grade 1 Science Curriculum
The Grade 1 science curriculum is aligned to the Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine Standards. Students are provided an overview about biology, physical science and geology. They explore about the plants, animals, and the earth science.
Grade 1 Social Studies Curriculum
The School curriculum follows Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine Standards, aligned to social studies standards and focuses on how families interact and the rules they follow. The students will learn about the choices made in history, difference between want and need, holiday’s celebration.
