Dr. Chung's philosophy of education exemplifies participative, collaborative, student leadership, and applied problem-solving strategies in a multicultural, technological, and holistic community school environment. In addition, her philosophy of education is to educate diverse students in a holistic manner that embraces and respects their cultural heritage, develop student leadership, and become life-long learners in an academic and work environment. She believes that education offers students a sense of self-pride on their rich cultural heritage, gain knowledge of the concept of teamwork and leadership, and develop life-long learning. |

Dr. Chung sets high expectations for all her students, which fosters academic excellence. She considers qualified teachers as teachers with academic training and workplace experience who facilitate the assimilation of current events, academic theories, and pragmatic applications. Committed to excellence, Dr. Chung advocates professional developments to teachers for continuous training on meeting the educational needs of all students. She supports evaluation of efficacy of academic curriculum, academic performance of students, as well as teachers. The results of the evaluations are utilized to improve academic curriculum and school quality. A school's leadership, technological, and holistic approach makes education more accessible, efficient, and applicable to the real world. Dr. Chung's philosophy of education on this leaderly learning (Vaill, 1996) model illustrates the importance of integrating academic relevance to pragmatic skills via innovative instructional techniques such as virtual online learning and learning team concepts.
